New Zealand

If you are looking for great overseas employment opportunities and a high standard of living in one of the world’s most beautiful, friendly, laidback countries, you should consider making the move to New Zealand. Whether you are seeking good-paying jobs in New Zealand, want a safe place to raise your family, enjoy the Great Outdoors, or desire a more relaxed lifestyle, immigration to New Zealand offers a high quality of life that is hard to beat.

Located in the South Pacific approximately 1,500 kilometers (900 miles) east of Australia, New Zealand consists of two large islands (North Island and South Island) plus several smaller islands. Although New Zealand is similar in size to Japan or the United Kingdom, it only has a population of approximately 4.6 million people, most of whom live on the North Island. The capital of New Zealand is Wellington (population 393,600), but the country’s largest city is Auckland (population 1,413,700) – both of which are located on the North Island. New Zealand’s third largest city is Christchurch (population 341,469) which is situated on the northeast coast of the South Island.

While New Zealand is known for its spectacular scenery, most recently made famous through the popular “Lord of the Rings” and “Hobbit” movies which were filmed on location there, this South Pacific paradise also boasts one the highest standards of living on Earth – all of which attract thousands of people to move to New Zealand every year. For example, Auckland was named as the #8 “Most Livable City in the World” in August 2016 by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU), which evaluated 140 cities around the globe based on such “livability” factors as educational resources, healthcare, infrastructure and environment, and safety. The international human resources firm, Mercer, rated Auckland #3 in the world for “Quality of Life” in 2014, 2015 and 2016, while it also ranked Wellington in 12th place. Additionally, the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) considered New Zealand to be the 10th best place in the world to live in its 2014 Better Life Index. Furthermore, the Credit Suisse Global Wealth Report published in October 2015 declared New Zealand to be the #2 richest country in the world (after #1 Switzerland), with each adult in New Zealand boasting an average wealth of $400,800 USD. The 2016 Global Peace Index also ranked New Zealand as the 4th safest country on the planet for 2015 out of 162 countries examined. No wonder the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network ranked New Zealand as the 8th happiest country in the world for 2016 out of the 157 countries evaluated!
